Interview by Collin Richardson

Hempfield Junior Deyvid Palepale is one of the most dominating linemen in the LL Berks. Providing brute strength and surprising quickness for a big guy, these are many of the reasons why many Division 1 schools have come calling. With offers from Temple, Louisville, and Penn State already Palepale will certainly have plenty of options. He stopped by to discuss that but also touch on Hempfield’s big matchup with Wilson below:

Collin Richardson: What does the off-season entail for you?

Deyvid Palepale: My off-season consist of lifting 3-4 days a week, team workouts and really just work on my technique and agility. I do shot and discus in the spring. I recently dropped basketball to focus more on football. I do plan on taking some visits here in the future, none have been scheduled quite yet.

CR: What is your dream school?

DP: Since the recruiting process as started, I’ve tried to keep my options as open as possible, but I’ve always grown-up watching USC. I’ve always loved watching them play, and to see them enter the Big 10 in my grad year is very exciting.

CR: Your matchup against Wilson looks even across the board, what is one area you are looking to take advantage of against them?

DP: We do match up very well, and this is just one of many playoff games on our schedule, so we’re used to it. Our game plan is just to play smash mouth football and to force them to throw the ball and drive 60-80 yards.

The Junior will certainly have his hands full going up against Wilson’s stout front, this is a game that will more than likely determine who wins Section 1. It doesn’t get any easier for PalePale and company as they welcome Exeter (6-0) the following Friday. As you can see by this young man’s interview his teammates and him know they have already been playing a playoff schedule. Follow me for live updates on twitter @CollinR74806383.
